A work in Progress
Veralla Tarot
What is a Veralla?
At age 12, I started drawing images to express my feelings rather than expose those angsty thoughts in a diary for my brother to find. I loved drawing animals and creatures of fantasy. I created a self symbol that evolved over time. It started out looking something between a wolf and a lioness with stylized flames that always changed as a representation of my emotional state.
Friends became other animals and the images told a story all their own. As I hit my early twenties, exploring my spiritual beliefs and connecting with spirit guides, the name that came to me for the creature was Veralla.
I started the Veralla Tarot as a way to learn the tarot on a deeper level, but also to create a deck that would incorporate all of the symbols and meanings that would resonate for me.
I have enjoyed the process so far and hope that others will enjoy the deck once it is done. Find the coloring book of the line drawings for sale on Amazon. I hope to incorporate the designs in my watercolor classes where we can explore both the painting as well as the tarot aspect of the process. Currently, the designs have been printed to watercolor paper to be colorized for the final deck.
See my facebook page for more in progress images. So far, I have one suit painted and plan to have the deck completed and available in 2025. The full, 78 card designs, coloring book is available on Amazon or visit Rock Mama Gallery to buy one in person starting in October 2024!
